i’ve been preserving my writing for my notebook journal and my songs lately… but hello, i’m back. life has been awesome and sweet; i’ve been making sure of that. when i feel like i’m in the midst of a lull or a valley, i remember the peaks that typically follow and buckle down so my excitement grows. i’m excited for what’s to come. i’m always rewarded for the work i put in, in one way or another.

i took my braids out between january 26th & january 28th. a days-long, arduous process with my lonnnng ass, square nails. something that irritated me was that my right index fingernail broke while i was helping a customer at work, a mere two days after i got them done. it was super helpful for the takedown though, so i couldn’t be too mad. i thanked God instead :-) my lady up the street washed and blowdried my hair and gave me pin curls. i’m trying to maintain them for as long as i can; tomorrow after work, i’m shooting the visual for the new song i’ve been teasing. Matrimony <3. i’m at work now. i’ll be in LA for the last two weeks of this month, making my music, escaping the filthy ass heaps of snow left on the ground from the storm that passed two weeks ago. i do still love this city a lot, despite it all…

the album is coming along. i feel in tune with my mind, body, spirit. i’m feelling quite observant of humans and culture on a whole and grateful for my position in all of it. life’s sweet. be back soon.
